Said good-bye to Lyndsey at Café 99 this morning and felt more energized. My calf still felt like logs as usual but it felt easier dragging them along this morning. I was thinking about how the shift in perspective changes my bodily functions. I try to not let emotions affect the running but it just doesn’t work that way. I run better when my heart is warmer:)

The sun also helped and I was running in shorts for the first time. A couple of days ago I passed a sign that read “45th Parrallel. Half way between the Equator and the North Pole”. It’s pretty neat to know that the weather is actually changing the further I run. feels different than waiting for the season to change. Gives me the extra motivation to run:)

Nicholas’ one-month contract ends in mid February so I need to secure an replacement soon. I posted the ad last night in the LA area and messaged a bunch of potential candidates. I can’t imagine why it would be so difficult to find people to come because the route down the Oregon/California coast is beautiful! You can take a look at it if you like: http://g.co/maps/jatcs. Anyways, just give it my best shot and hope for sunshine:)

The legs are pretty tired from the increased mileages after Portland. I planned on bumping it up to daily average 16 miles/ 25.6km but seems I’ve been averaging a bit over that. felt some sharp pain on the right leg with a few miles to go today. I had to stop for a few steps and changed my gate to accommodate. Will see what tomorrow brings.
